Default Sgt R M Cann, RCAF

Unsure if this is one of Henk’s unaccounted Airman

Sgt. Ronald McClean Cann, R 65351 W Op / Air Gunner
    Died December 6, 1941

    Report from local paper reads,

    Canadian Airman’s suicide.

A verdict of “Suicide while the balance of his mind was disturbed” was returned by the Sleaford coroner, Mr E C Deal at the inquest on Ronald McClean Cann (21) a sergeant in the Royal Canadian Air Force who was found lying across the rails underneath a line of wagons in the LNER marshalling yard at Sleaford. Evidence was given that a goods train was being driven down the yard by Cecil Frederick Reeve, of Alexandra Road, Grantham. Reeve felt a bump then another and pulling up found Cann’s body beneath a wheel.

Very tragic reading, perhaps Sgt Cann was a patient at the nearby RAF hospital at Rauceby ?
