Default Confussion with AM Form 78

    Gents,

I have come across a number of differences between the AM Form 78 Movement Cards and the Air Britain Aircraft serial books, an example Wellington Mk.Ic L7797.

AM Form 78 gives the contract as 992424/39 built by Vickers Armstong, Air Britain gives the contract as 692236/37........what one is correct, the AM Form 78 or Air Britain ?

    Cheers

    Hello Steve

I have a photocopy of the Aircraft Card A.M. Form 78 for Wellington 1c L7798 (one away from yours), with Contract No. 992424/39 with Pegasus XVIII engines 154746 and 154720 and the Contractor as Vickers Armstrong.

    Incidentally 218 Squadron held L7798 from 15.12.40 and Vickers [?] S.A.S. on 14.1.41 marked 43G[roup] / Cat 'B'.

    Mark
