l believe 1337002 Sgt (Pilot) Eric Lionel FLEMONS RAFVR, was killed when No.6 (O)AFU Anson I DJ659, hit ground in cloud at Compton Lacey, nr. Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, on 27th January, 1944.

Flemons is incorrectly listed on FreeBMD as "HEMONS, Eric L."

The error on FreeBMD stems from the information on the deaths register index being wrong. This error either comes from whent he index was created or may be the name on the death certificate itself, so FreeBMD are not 'wrong' per se, the error is in either the death cert and/or the register index. They only transcribe what they see on FreeBMD.
