S/L RGV Barraclough 66487

Hello,

When S/L RGV Barraclough was posted to 137 Sqn as CO in Autumn 1944, it seems that it was his first operational posting.

Does anybody know any details on his previous postings?

Any help would be very appreciated.

He actually joined the RAFVR in Jan 1938, was called up September 1939. Joined 266 Squadron in Dec 1939 and flew with them during the BoB. Claimed a Do17 on 26 Dec 1940.

Commissioned in May 1941, and left 266 on 19 July 1941.

Then there is a gap until his appointment as CO of 137.

Hi Phil

I believe that he may have been with 232 Squadron late 1941, but cannot confirm this at present.
