Default Sgt Sidney John Jordan : XV Squadron KIA 27th Sept 1943

I am arranging a 'family day' for the relatives of Stirling that crashed near our town in April 1942, on it's return from an operation over Essen.
Sgt Jordan survived that crash but was killed the following year.
So far I have managed to get in contact with 6 of the 8 crew 'families'.
Two remain, one I am getting close to. Sgt Jordan remains elusive, although he may have come from Norfolk. The details I have are...
    Sgt Sidney John Jordan
    Air Bomber XV Squadron
    1393659 RAF Vol Res
    Stirling EE940
KIA 27/9/43, raid on Hanover, the aircraft crashed 100 metres north of Ronnenberg Station having been hit by flak and attacked by a night fighter.
All the crew are buried in the Hanover War Cemetery.
Any help anyone can help me to find out where he came from and therefore where relatives may now be living would be gratefully received.

    Hi Roger,

He is not listed in the CWGC site but is in Chorley's books.

    Regards,

    John.

NO relatives listed on CWGC but there is an entry in the 1944 Wills Calenders for him, it reads:
JORDAN Sidney John of 59 Alexandra Avenue Gillingham Kent
died 27 September 1943 on war service
    Administration Llandudno 3 August (1944)
to Sidney George Giles Jordan Railway Guard

So, that tells you where his home was, most likely his parents home.

I'm also guessing that Sidney George Giles Jordan was his father, born in 1894 in Kent.
I'm confident that Sidney John Jordan was born in 1917 in the Blean district of Kent, his mothers name was Madeline Sophia Matta, she passed away in 1935.
He may have had two siblings
Richard C Jordan and Madeline Jordan.

    Default Brilliant ! Thanks!

    Hi Dennis,
Thanks for that, all our focus was on Norfolk, bit it would appear that this is indeed the man I'm looking for! I'll start trawling phone books and local History Societies (usually works !)
    Thanks again Roger..
ps.. I went back into CWGC again and despite having found him before I couldn't find him again, thanks for the link.
    Best Wishes
    Roger

    Hi Roger,

I am glad you had the same problem, I in the end had to try 4 times before I found him. I thought I was losing the plot!!

    Regards,

    John.
