    The crew of BD420 were:
Flight Sergeant Ronald Richmond Broun, RNZAF, Pilot
Sergeant Edward Alan Creber, RAFVR, Navigator
Sergeant Reginald Frederick Hodges, RCAF, Air Bomber
Sergeant Jack Thomas Brownhill, RAFVR, Wireless Operator
Sergeant Henry Little, RAFVR, Air Gunner

The pilots of the glider, reported as Horsa LA443 in the ORB detached from BD420 and force landed not far from where the Whitley flew into a hillside.

For Anson N5130 there are a few posts on here and a pdf of a presentation given in Deganwy last September here http://www.deganwyarchive.co.uk/hist...up/page28.html with the exception of Folkard you'd got the RAF crew members already.

As Alan has pointed out Broun, Creber, Hodges, Brownhill and Little died in Whitley BD420, which crashed on The Stiperstones (a hill).
Payne died in RAF Hospital, Cosford, after being 'crushed between fire tender and a wall' at RAF Peplow. He was on strength of 83 OTU, Peplow.

    Cheers, Tom

    Hello,

In an earlier posting on, BROUN, BROWNHILL, CREBER, HODGES & LITTLE (Whitley V BD420), Alan Clark quotes the serial of the Horsa involved in this incident as; LA443 - LA443 was a Seafire 45. Both, Errol Martyn (FYT2/193), and Tom Thorne (Pancakes and Prangs.pp.192-3), quote the Horsa serial as HA443. Neither LA, nor HA, are mentioned as Horsa prefixes here:

Production Horsas were allotted serial numbers prefixed: DP, HG, HS, LF, LH, LJ, PF, PW, RJ, RN, RX, RZ, TK, TL, and TT, beginning DP279 and ending TT367.

Aircraft of the Royal Air Force since 1918.
    Thetford,Owen
    London:Putnam,1995(9th rev.ed.),
    p.385.

    Any comments?
