    I have Thompson, Ryan, Roblin, Hearton, Yates and Corner down as being killed in Wellington HE903 at Ranton. It was written up in the ORB as the 4th Feb in two different places, but as the crew were all named it was fairly clear where the mistake was made.

    COTTRELL, Royston William - Sgt (A/G) - killed whilst flying in Halifax V, DK146 DH-N of No 1664 HCU, which dived into the ground near Rainton following a steep climb out from Dishforth as it set out on a training flight.
    DAVIES, Ernest Edgar Cyril - F/O - killed whilst flying in Stirling III, EF307 OJ-E of No 149 Sqn, which was lost on a Gardening sortie over Kiel Bay.
    REID, Alexander Pettigrew - Sgt (WoP/A/G ) - Halifax V, DK146 DH-N of No 1664 HCU.

    Can you confirm Corner as being on HE903? Chorley BCL Vol 7 has only the other five listed as being aboard.

    CORNER is registered Stafford on same page as most of the crew of HE903.

    Yes I can, he is listed in the fatal casualties suffered by No.30 OTU in their ORB for 24.2.44.

    February 1944, “Medical.
    Deaths
    1. In Stafford General Infirmary as a result of injuries received in flying accident:-
    139774 Sgt. Welstead, A.J. (W/Op(Air)) – died on 10.2.44.
    2. Killed in flying accident on 24.2.44 at Seighford.

    February 4th 1944, “Wellington a/c HE.903 – Crashed at Seighford at 22.22 hrs on the 4.2.44. All members of the crew were killed.”
