Default Luftwaffe Claim 4 October 1943 IN DAYLIGHT

    Greetings all,

Has anyone any Luftwaffe claims for the 4 October 1943 over the North Sea IN DAYLIGHT please?

Lancaster DS721/U of 115 Squadron was on a Air Sear Rescue sortie searching for the crew of a B17 Flying Fortress at the time it was Lost without trace.

It took off from Little Snoring, Norfolk at 0652 hours 4 October 1943.

Any information would be most appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Digger.

    Hello Arthur,
One possibility from Tony Woods lists.
Fliegerführer Atlantik: v. R.A.F. Coastal Command

    04.10.43 Ltn. Kurt Necesany 14./KG 40 Liberator 24 West N/2764: at 300 m. 10.25 Film C. 2031/II Anerk: Nr. -

Maybe wrong identification of type ?

Also noted is the loss of Hptm. Erwin Clausen: Kdr. Stab I./JG 11 Luftkampf: North Sea FW 190 A-5 WNr. 7358

    Regards, Ian
