    From the 60 M.U. orb. George Hambleton "sustained fatal injuries whilst on duty at Breighton. The injuries were caused by the collapse of Halifax aircraft LV817 during salvage operations."

    Just noticed an earlier (old) message which will need a database correction;

    "SIMMONS, Frederick William - Sgt - possibly killed whilst flying in Beaufighter IIF, V8137 of No 54 OTU, which dived into the ground near Kelso."

    The relevant Air-Britain serials book does indeed say V8137 crashed on 4 March 1944.
    The database entry says 4 January 1944:
    http://www.rafcommands.com/database/...php?uniq=V8137
    but links to the death of two crew on 24 March 1944.

    So three different dates are quoted.
    Easy enought to fix our database, but before I do, can someone please definitively confirm the correct date for the loss of V8137?
