Summerfield was attached to the RAF operated Y Station at Cheadle, Staffordshire, the following was entered in their ORB:

April 15th 1944, “644252 Cpl Summerfield W. who was stationed at out-station Lydford, died today in Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. He took sick on leave was admitted to Little Bromwich Isolation Hospital, Birmingham on 25.3.44 with a diagnosis of Abdominal Pain N.Y.D. Paratyphoid and was transferred from there to Queen Elizabeth Hospital P.M. findings were Peritonitis, Carcinomatosis due to carcinoma of stomach. His age was 25 years. For about a month before his admission to Hospital he had complained once or twice of mild stomach trouble for which he got some McLeans Alkaline and never reported sick.”

I have the four fatalities from V1609 as Flt Sgt R.T. Brown, W/O F.A. Ormiston, Flt Sgt J. Crichton and Sgt A.G. Crowe. The survivor seems to have been called Ewen but the service number given in the A705 of one of the RAAF fatal casualties doesn't match anyone in AIR 78 with that or a derivative surname.

Having not followed it up any further I'd only had a look at my e-mails referring to V1609 and not what I'd posted, I'm fairly sure the name I came up with last year is the right one, just nothing to prove it beyond a very close match to the service number.

    INDIA
    BROWNING, Peter Lear - W/O - 571275 - RAF - Gauhati, India.
Warrant Officer Browning appears to be the Armament Officer of No.7 Squadron, Indian Air Force. The ORB for April mentions the following:

    Location - UDERBUND
    Time 12.45

"A very unfortunate accident took place on the trip. ... a 500lb bomb exploded at the fusing point. W/O Browning, the Unit Armament Officer, Corporal Kamboj, Fitter Armoury, and five others were killed."
