    Default RAF Cranwell Commandant

Can anyone enlighten me as to who was the Commandant at RAF Cranwell in early April 1943?

    Thanks,

    David

    Hi David

Between 1939 and 1946 the post of Commandant was abolished and replaced by Station Commander RAF Cranwell, the CO in early 1944 could have been A/Cdre H M Probyn.

Thanks Malcolm. You say early 44, do you think this was the case also in early 43?

    Hi David

My error I meant early 1943, Probyn was replaced by W E G Bryant in early 1944 and he died in post.
