    Default Loss 12 June 1944

    Hello,

    We Flight Sergeant (W.Op. / Air Gnr.). DIXON, LESLIE, 22 years. 224 Sqdn. Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. 2. F. 12 WAR CEMETERY Pornic.
    He is the only man in the 224 Sqdn buried in Pornic, died June 12, 1944.
    I found nothing in the related aircraft.

    F/S Dixon was killed when Liberator Mark V BZ940 'S' was lost, probably when attacking U-441 off Brest.

    The other 9 crew members were never found and are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
