    John

The book that many people regard as their bible on 2nd line units "Flying Training and Support Units since 1912" by Ray Sturtivant and John Hamlin confirms that 392MU did exist but for less than six months. It was formed at Brindisi on 31/12/45 from 353, 357 and 380 MUs and No 8 ARD (SAAF) and disbanded on 15/6/46. It could be that there was no ORB or that a handful of pages were lost at some stage in all the clerical/filing processes. If it exists at all it should be in AIR29. It could be that a few pages are filed at the end of 353, 357 or 380 MU ORBs. These MUs were part of No 214 Group you might find odd morsels of info in that ORB.

    Hello Steve
Thanks very much for the info regarding 392 M.U.
It just happens that the person I am looking for has
    8 ARD on his service record at 01 12 45 and then 392 M.U. on 31 12 45
    Thanks best regards john335

    Hello John

For 8 ARD at TNA, Kew, you could also try:-

AIR 29/904 8 Aircraft Repair Depot, Brindisi (ARD Italy). Dec 1945
(There are some other returns for Brindisi in AIR 29 too)

    and
    RAF Station Brindisi
AIR 28/995 BRINDISI: Formed Feb. 1946 Disbanded June 1946. With appendices Loose 1946 Feb.-June
