    POLAND. WALENN.

    73022 F/L Gilbert William WALENN twice MiD RAFVR, was one of the 50 airmen murdered after the Great Escape. F/L Walenn was shot down on 10/11 September, 1941 whilst piloting No.25 OTU Wellington IC N2805, and taken PoW. See: BCL7/71.

    BRENTNALL, Anthony Boyre - F/O (Pilot) - killed whilst flying in Master II, DL852 of No 5 (P) AFU, which crashed near Condover after hitting a tree at night whilst flying in fog.
    DICKINSON, Arthur Montague - F/O - registered in Chippenham.
    HOUSLEY, Christopher - Sgt (Pilot) - possibly killed whilst flying in either Magister I, L8153 or Master II, DL236 of No 22 EFTS, which collided with each other on the approach to Cambridge.
    LEWER, Frank Ernest - Sgt (Pilot) - possibly killed whilst flying in either Magister I, L8153 or Master II, DL236 of No 22 EFTS.

    GONSALVES was lost on Martinet HP432 as per my notes below:

    HP432 P& Powis 1690 / C 23 (c) Mercury XXX 20.03.43 3 A.G.S., Mona; 20.04.43 8 A.G.S., Evanton; 26.03.44 Flying Accident Cat Ac damage, 8 A.G.S., Evanton aircraft suffered engine failure in flight due to fuel starvation, pilot made a forced landing in a field at Hilton Farm near Tain. The pilot, Sgt Forbes, suffered abrasions to the forehead, bruised nose and sprained left wrist. Passenger Cadet A.C.2 Gonsalves suffered a blow to the head, which eventually proved fatal when he passed away on 29th March. Pilot Sgt FORBES, I.D. (******) Injured, Passenger Cadet Aircraftman 2nd Class GONSALVES, John Michael (1881085) (British Guiana) Injured, later died of injuries 29.03.44. Accident time 15.15, Duty: Cine Gun Exercise; 06.05.44 Repaired on Site (C.R.O.); 12.05.44 8 A.G.S., Evanton; 26.08.44 8 A.G.S., Evanton disbands; 05.09.44 48 M.U., Hawarden; 21.03.46 48 M.U., Hawarden Home Census; 14.02.49 Sold as scrap to J. Dale.

    WHENT, Dulcie Joyce - Cpl - 2000817 - had a fall during the course of a walk in the woods near Halton and sustained injuries which proved to be fatal. It was reported that she was running down as steep hill with a friend when she fell and fractured her skull. A verdict of accidental death was recorded.

    BROWN, SYDNEY WALTER PERCY (1496122) age: 39 RAFVR may have also been killed in the same incident as Edward Thompson 1698859 as he died the same day at Shallufa and is buried in the same cemetery?

    I agree with the possibility Malcolm and had wondered myself, but I haven't come across it in my notes yet
