    Default 630 Squadron

I have been given my Great Uncle's Log book from his time in the RAF.

He was killed on board a Lancaster ME867 LE-N in France on night of 4/5th July 1944.

I am aware he was also in the 106Sqn and is now buried in Poix de Picarde in France.

I was wondering if anyone had any more information about his crew and details about him

Many Thanks in Advance for your help

    Nikki,
I have the 630sqdn Operations Record Book, and will have a look through it for details on this, and previous ops for the crew. You do not give his name, but he must be one of these airmen.
    P/O R.N. Taft.
    Sgt W.J. Goodyear.
    Sgt H. Bradley.
    Sgt F. Hartley.
    Sgt E.C. Day.
    Sgt F.H. Hard.
    Sgt G.H. Tyler.
    Regards...Alan.

    Hi
Yes he was Sgt George Herbert Tyler. I believe he also served with 57 Sqn on a "B flight" and 106 Sqn which he served with a crew for quite a few flights before he went to the 630sqn.

Any information about him I would be grateful to hear.

    Thank you
    Nikki

    Nikki,
This crew were on their 3rd op with 630sqdn when they were lost. They were posted in during mid June 44, no date given, but first op was on 24th June, to Pommerval, then 27th June, to Marquise, and finally 4th July to Creil. Can't help with 106sqdn, but can you give me date of when with 57sqdn, as i have ORB up to Dec 43. Will also need your email address, to send copies of files when ready. Can you let me have it via a PM.
    Alan.
