    Default Wellington W5731

    Morning all,

Looking for the F 1180 or any detail on a crash on take-off for WS 731 at or near Shallufah.
It is believed to have been on an air test and could have been raising of the u/c and the pilot putting the aircraft back down as the unlocks disengaged.
The serial no is odd. 38 and 221 were there but in the main had HX series Wellington VIII

    Hi Ken

WS731 was a post war serial allocated to a Meteor NF Mk 14

    Thanks for that,

I should have looked in my own logbook for a meat box serial no.

I've dug out my old dad's logbook and it shows on Nov 13 1942 that he and a F/O Taylor crashed on take off doing an air test, at Shallufah. The serial could be W 5731 but that didn't look sensible to me and so I took the 5 to be an S.

I read the 5 as an S in the serial no
