    Hi,

thanks for your replies. I am interested in the ORBs June - September 1943. I would like to search for the entries concerning Stinson, Allso, Wells, Richardson, Mccubbin, Day and Merrill.

    Bye.

Thanks a lot. Very nice listing which helps.

What actually means H C U (Heavy Conversion Unit?) and Machen. Now I will ask for ORB s of 1663 H C U in another thread. :-) or did they have no ORBs?

    Bye.

    Hello Marcel,
1663 Heavy Conversion Unit based at Rufforth was where the crew trained to fly the four engined Halifax, converting from the two engined Wellingtons or Whitleys they had previously been flying, this training usually lasted about four to six weeks.
There is no mention of the crew in the ORB but this is not unusual as it would only show them if they had been involved in an accident, one of them had been promoted to officer whilst there, or some other extra-ordinary event.

    Rgds

    Hi again,

I think that Merrill has been replaced because he was injured. Is there a source with more information besides the ORB which might mention the damage of the aircraft and the injury?
