    Default Hudson BW449 145 Squadron

    Hello all,
Would anyone have information re: the above loss on November 1, 1942?
I read that it was lost on patrol in the Atlantic (?off of Newfoundland).
I have the crew details but nothing else.
As always, your help is sincerely appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Bob

BW449 was serving with No. 145 (BR) Squadron, RCAF, based at Torbay, Newfoundland when it was reported missing from a patrol on 1 November 1942. It was one of 4 squadron aircraft lost on operations from May 1942 to June 1945. I don't have any further information, but maybe Dakota can help us both out. I would appreciate the crew details you have.

    Default Hudson FTR

    G'day Bobby and Bill

Hudson Mk. III, s/n BW449 departed R.C.A.F. Station Torbay at 16:35 hours GMT on an anti-submarine patrol and convoy escort duty. The aircraft failed to return. The pilot was inexperienced and should have had more time as a Second Pilot before becoming First Pilot on patrol duties. It is felt that the pilot let down through the fog and crashed into the sea. All occupants were considered dead after the Accident Investigation Board findings.

    The crew were:

Second Pilot J10249 Pilot Officer J. P. Davies

    Navigator R109627 Sergeant L. Feldman

    W.A.G. - R108299 Sergeant H. C. Beattie

    W.A.G. - R 86901 Sergeant L. G. Robinson

    Cheers...Chris
