    Default LG/RAF Terminology

    Hello All,

Another question (probably for those with access to KRs, QRs, MAFL, etc).

In the LG RAF gazettings I understand:- Appointment, Dismissed, Extension, Notification, Promotion, Relinquish, Regrading, Resign, Retirement, Transfer, etc.

I have just come across (several times):- Removal. This sounds a bit drastic! What does it mean, and when/why is it invoked?

    TIA

    Peter,

REMOVAL was a term used by all three Services. It was used to get shot of someone convicted in the civil courts of a serious offence.

    Jim, Sir!
Tks yrs. All explained. So there was no ‘No 1 Mailbag Sewing Detachment Dartmoor’ at that time? Presume ‘Glasshouses’ (Colchester/Shepton Mallet, etc) were, therefore, strictly non-Officer?
    Tks again
