Concerning the Canadian Anson losses: 2 ANS at Charlottetown lost 3 aircraft that night. 25 aircraft were dispatched on night exercises and the weather turned bad. For 11600, believed to have come down in the sea off Newfoundland, bodies of LAC J.W.S. Mathers washed ashore on 4 June 1944, LAC F. Duncan washed ashore on 9 June 1944. For 11588 I have no information. The other aircraft was 11687.

Sgt Maurice Gregory HUDSTON is shown in Flight as KOAS.

Believe he is Sgt M G Hudson inj - Halifax DG284 of 1667 HCU - T/o Sandtoft for circuits and landings. Flying at a thousand feet, the starboard outer cut and was feathered. Unable to regain their base, the crew forced-landed at 1553 on Wedge Hall Moor, near Thorne. F/O McGowan RCAF was taken to Scunthorpe War Memorial Hospital, while his less seriously hurt colleagues were treated in Sandtoft's station sick quarters.

GISING, Waclaw - F/O - P.0025 - registered Pancras. The Evening Despatch of May 16th 1944 reported the following:

Said by an R.A.F. flying officer to be obsessed with spy mania and to have been on leave since returning from Canada in September because of his mental condition, Flight-Lieut. Wacla W. [sic] Gising, aged 38, of the Polish Air Force, was found dead in a bed in London with a bullet wound to the head.
