I had to laugh at the forum listing for this thread which reads "TNA fire started by Resmoroh 15th February 2014"
    Main areas of research:

    - CA Butler and the loss of Lancaster ME334 (http://rafww2butler.wordpress.com/ )
    - Aircrew Training (Basic / Trade / Operational / Continuation / Conversion)
    - The History of No. 35 Squadron (1916 - 1982) (https://35squadron.wordpress.com/)

[Always looking for copies of original documents / photographs etc relating to these subjects]

I think 'our' Nick Fenton was there, so he was probably one of the evacuees.

As much as I understand the need for the evacuation, etc., it would frustrate me to travel all the distance to Kew with a list of things to look up only to be turfed out part way through!

I shudder to think what the reading room must have been like with all the original docs out on the tables and having to evacuate everyone and maintain security. What a chaos that must have been.
