STEALEY and DAVIS were both killed in a motorcycle when it crashed into a lorry. The Gloucestershire Echo 3 June 1944 page 4 reported the lorry as "driven by Driver Sherman White, a coloured American, in a negligent manner. The victims of the accident were Arthur Stealey (39), 10, Brooklyn-gardens, Arle - road, Cheltenham, who was riding a motor-cycle, and William John Arthur Davis (41), Glenroy, 42, Kendal-road, road, Longlevens, Gloucester"
