    Can you help. I am looking for information on PHILLIPS, MANSEL VERNAL, Sergeant Air Gnr. No 1836048, RAFVR, 431 (R.C.A.F.) Sqdn. Died 04/12/1943 HANOVER WAR CEMETERY, 6. A. 18.
    Any help appreciated

    If you search for Mansel V Phillips in freebmd.org.uk

    you will find one candidate of that name who was born in Merthyr Tydfil district, Wales in 1924. Mothers maiden name Vernall.

    In 1919, one Mary J Vernall married an Edward G Phillips in that registration district.

    That surname Vernall/Vernal is fairly peculiar and that's the only married I see that would fit, except of course if M V Phillps parents were not married.

    I would say he likely had at least three brothers who were born in the 1920's in that district. Again, search for surname Phillips and mothers maiden name Vernall/Vernal
