    Default Duisburg 28th August 1941

Is anyone able to supply me with a copy of the Night Raid Report for 28th / 29th August 1941 (Duisburg) or any other Bomber Command document showing the route?

    Thanks in anticipation

    Regards

    Pete

I checked the BCHQ ORB at Kew (AIR24/234) some time ago for that raid. It contains an intelligence narrative, intelligence summary, executive orders, and an air photo of Duisburg for that night. I can supply further info from this source on request. However that document does not include a route. Apparently the BCHQ ORBs began including route maps only in October of that year (AIR24/236).

However, my mother's cousin was air observer on a 106 Sqdn a/c on that raid, and according to his operational diary they made "landfall over Borum & the Zuider Zee." The diary says a fair bit about a fortunate escape from being coned for 15 minutes, an event corroborated in his pilot's recollections (IWM interview with W/C J.G. Roberts, 2003).

    Hope this helps
    Peter

Due to an oversight on my part, I started a new thread on this subject, so I will close this one.

Please add any feedback to http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/sho...h-August-1941)

    Regards
