Default SPITFIRE K9981 12 Sept 1940 Accident Card?

Spitfire K9981 7 OTU River Dee mouth, Flint on 12th September 1940, Pilot Sgt Macgregor uninjured.

Has anyone got the Accident Card for the above handy, that they could scan and email me please, to save me troubling the RAF Museum?

    Thanks Mark

In common with almost all the BoB era Spitfire cards it went missing from the RAFAHB before the microfilms were done.

    Hello Ross

That is a shame that this AM 1180 appears to be missing.

My discoveries indicate this Spitfire K9981 loss has been transferred from one 1940 AIB (Accidents Investigation Branch) Registry to another 1940 AIB Registry.

I was hoping that the AM1180 might give brief information about the investigation and perhaps a clue as to two of the AIB Registries in use in 1940.

    Regards Mark

Further information about Sgt Macgregor's name, number given as 74075 in relation to this accident.

AIR 78 indicates that his number should be 740705 Alexander Noel Macgregor.

Also a few days later in September 1940 an A. N. Macgregor transferred from 7 OTU to 266 Squadron.

The London Gazette indicates under 8th Oct 1941
    "740705 Alexander Noel Macgregor (109895)"
