    Default Fairey Gordon K2649

Is anyone able to confirm whether or not K2649 was taken on strength by 35 Squadron or was it a 207 squadron aircraft (being flown by 35 Squadron when it force landed 5th June 1936).

The record in the K File isn't clear on this matter, so any assistance would be much appreciated.

    Regards

    Pete

    Default Fairey Gordon

    G'day Pete

According to Philip J. R. Moyes book entitled "Bomber Squadrons of the R.A.F. and Their Aircraft" Fairey Gordon s/n K2649 served with No. 207 Squadron in the Middle East and carried the code A3.

    Cheers...Chris

    Thanks Chris

That ties in with my interpretation of the K File record; I will have to obtain the movement card and/or the accident card to confirm that 35 squadron was flying this 207 squadron aircraft at the time of the crash.
