Default 101 Squadron ORB inquiry (moved)

Hello I was hoping there might be a 101 Sqdn expert on here who has access to 101 Squadron ORB's from April 1943- September 1943. Forms 540 & 541.

Specifically looking for Ops/crew information regarding Sgt. F/E Herbert Otto BERGER DFM.

From what I know, he flew with a Sgt. Pilot A.D. Groome through April/May (possibly more) and a chap by the name of SAE on May 25. I'm not sure exactly when BERGER completed his tour - September is a bit of a guess.

Thank you very much to anyone who can help.

Hello I have been doing a bit of research myself concerning No 101 Squadron, as I have some relics of one of their Avro Lancasters. And in my research it led me to a website that I found helpful, maybe it could help you.

    Hello,

First op shown for the Groome crew is 13 April 1943 to Spezia in ED377.

PM me your email address and I'll send you all the pages available.

    Thanks Dennis,

Yes, I've seen the 156 Squadron website. Unfortunately, the information is incomplete.

    Thank you.

Hi, a bit late so don't know if you will see this. My late grandfather's (w/o Robert Christie) RAF log book has very recently come into my possession. He was a Bomb Aimer with 101 squadron and flew many ops with Sgt Groome. The Op on 13/4/1943 to Spezia was my grandfather's (and I think Groome's) first Op.

My grandfather continued on Ops with w/o Groome until 17/10/1943 and then switched to another team. Happy to send details or any information.

    Kind regards,

    Tim Willis

Does your grandfather's log book contain the details of practice bombing and firing and the names of the ranges used?
