Default Spitfire VII of 2 AGS ?

    Hi,

Does anybody know if 2 AGS had markings S roundel individual letter ? It seems that this Spitfire VII, serial MB806, posted to 2 AGS according to M&S.

    TIA

    Bertrand

Combat Codes quotes 11 RAF users of S but not 2 AGS. Flying Training and Support Units gives Mk.VII MD177 just the individual code J. A Martinet was coded B1 but for other (earlier) types only a number is quoted.

    Salut Bertrand

It is interesting to note that the other air gunners schools used either a single letter, number or alpha-numeric code like Anson Mk. I s/n LT362 and coded T-23 from No. 3 Air Gunners School.

    Cheers...Chris
