    Hi Dave

The confusion came about due to there being two Kingsdowns in Kent, one on the coast near Deal, which I assumed to be the crash area and West Kingsdown near Brands Hatch, which would appear to be the actual crash area

R2080 crashed at Kingsdown in Kent which is in Dover registration district, however there appear to be no Barker's registered in this district from 1943 - 1945.

There is a Leonard Barker aged 29 registered in Tonbridge, Kent in the relevant quarter but this isn't the district a death in R2080 would be registered.

The probate register states the George Leonard Barker died on war service but doesn't give his place of death just his place of residence as Suffolk.

Can anyone clear this one up?

Presumably he was serving with 226 MU but died in Grangemouth, possibly on leave, as his death is registered there.

    Weike Farm, Kingsdown

I have spent a couple of hours looking for this, and although the farm is not to be found on any available maps, I have found a reference in Kelly's to Weike Farm in the parish of Shoreham (the reporting point for BMD's here was Tonbridge after 1941). Another reference was in connection with a farm sale where Weike Farm was associated with Woodlands Manor. There is a Woodlands Golf course between Shoreham and West Kingsdown 188/573607. It would be nice to pinpoint Weike Farm though, are there any locals out there that could chase it up?
