    Default 1360724 F/Lt Ronald McKay

Hello, I'm in the process of scanning, transcribing, and mapping my father's RAF log book, covering his service in and around north Africa from 1941-43.

So far I've been able to more-or-less pinpoint most locations he's logged, but there's one which has got me stumped.

On 1st July 1942, he flew from Shallufa to somewhere called Medan (for 50 minutes), and then on to El Arish (for 15 minutes), and then back to Shallufa (for 45 minutes).

Shallufa and (El) Arish are easy enough, but Medan has me at a loss. With those flight times, it's certainly not Medan in Sumatra: a rough triangulation would suggest somewhere north of Aqaba.

Likelihood is he's misheard and written down the wrong name. Anyone got any suggestions as to where he might have been?

    Thanks,

    Dave.

    Hi Dave.

I would be very interested in the scans of the logbook if possible.
