Was aboard Halifax BB363 from 1662 HCU which crashed on 25/04/1944, Chorley has him as uninjured but Blyton ORB says he was placed on D.I. list and died on 03/08/1944 as a result of injuries sustained.

SMITH, David - AC1c - 346830 - he's on the Statutory Deaths Register on the Scotland's People website, but the scan is very faint - looks like he died of pulmonary TB. I've asked for a re-scan...

EVANS, Harold Lloyd - AC2c - 1860673 - the Chelmsford Chronicle of August 11th 1944 reported that he was 'killed by enemy action in Southern England.'
HARRIS, James - AC1c - 131367 - similarly, the North Devon Journal of August 10th 1944 records that he died 'through enemy action.'
SHARP, Sydney - AC1c - 951744 - the Derby Daily Telegraph of August 7th 1944 reported his death 'by enemy action while serving in this country.'

SMITH, David - AC1c - 346830 - the Scotland's People team have re-scanned the file. He died at 12 midnight at Glenalmond Sanatorium due to pulmonary TB, from which he had been suffering for approximately five years.
