Cpl William George HARLE was not aboard W6006. According to this link
    http://www.twinspires.org.uk/warreco...ge%20Harle.pdf
He was electrocuted whilst recovering a run away barrage balloon in Horton Kirby
The pilot who was killed aboard Sunderland W6006 of 4(C)OTU was Free French Second Master Pilot Raymond Ouvrard. He was instructing two student French pilots when the aircraft hit a beacon on alighting and broke up. SM/P Ouvrards flying log book is held by the PRO at Kew. He was very experienced pilot with the first entries dating to 1931. Unfortunately as you might expect it is all in French and contains nothing like the detail that an RAF log book would hold.

    and ...

    13-Aug-44 X7296 Oxford - 21 PAFU - Wells End Farm, Barton.

The pilot was 'beating up' his girlfriend's home with complete disregard for the sortie he was supposed to be flying. He dived the aircraft at high speed but then attempted a sharp pull out which induced a high speed stall and the aircraft crashed.
