    That link was helpful Dennis. I did check Ancestry and can only find his grave site listing. This gives gets me his age, where he lived and wife's name and that he had a daughter. That lets us know him a little. Thank you for your help.

    And if you click on the headstone link you will see that his head stone mentions he had a daughter.

    Given that he name is very distinctive you can easily find their marriage on Ancestry or freebmd.org.uk

    Spouse Surname: Thorpe
    Date of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec 1937
    Registration district: Richmond
    Inferred County: Yorkshire North Riding
    Volume Number: 9d
    Page Number: 1581

    Their daughter was born in 1940 in Darlington, as she migh twell be alive, I'll let you find her name via freebmd.org.uk
