    Default OTU 57 Eshott/Boulmer

    Hi,

RAF Boulmer was a satellite airfield of 57 Operational Training Unit of Eshott.

I would like to know if in spring 1943 the pilots spent every day travel between Eshott and Boulmer or if there was a billeting at Boulmer ?

    TIA

It certainly had accommodation for about 600 personnel and was the base for 57 OTU's Advanced Training Sqn so the personnel probably stayed there.

Today the site is the domestic/admin site for RAF Boulmer, the operational site being a couple of miles away.

Thanks Malcolm; we can consider that the course 46 at OTU57 was therefore carried out on two different airbases: 6 weeks to Boulmer and 2 to Eshott.
