Default War time photographs - Hemsell and Pocklington

    Hi all

As the title asks - has anybody got anytime World War Two period photographs / information of either RAF Pocklington or RAF Hemswell please? I've only found generic information on Google.
My Grandfather was at 102 Squadron, June to Nov 1943 at Pocklington and 150 Squadron, Nov 44-May 45 at Hemswell.

I've seen the link on http://rafforum.activeboard.com/t14276759/raf-hemswell/

    Thank you
    Sam

If you go to the IWM site and search on their "collections" you will find quite a lot of photos and other material for both airfields.

If you haven't already seen it, here's a link to "Night Bombers 1943" that was filmed at Hemswell.

    Hi Sam ,
An aerial photo of Pocklington Airfield dated 6/9/42. I also have a Hi-res scan of the airfield plans but I'll email it as it's a pdf file and I can't post it in the gallery.

    Thankyou

Steve - I'll look at IWM. I'd overlooked that site. I wondered if any books existed.

Grounded - My Grandfather is on the DVD Nightbombers. In the 45th minute when the airmen walk into the room having returned from an operation my Grandfather is sitting at the long desk. He is described as a 'Specialist' who debriefs the airmen. I know he was a Flight Lieutenant Navigator with 150 Squadron from Nov 44 to May 45.

Pete - Thankyou for your email. Very interesting photo.

    Much appreciated guys........
