Default F/Lt Harold Wray Tennant KOAS 24/12/1940

    Hello all,

F/Lt Harold Wray Tennant (37431) was "B" Flight Commander of 306 Squadron and died when Hurricane V6992 crashed at Hopton in Shropshire.

According to "The Times" he had served with Torpedo bomber aircraft both at home and with Far East Command since 1936.

My question is......What Squadron(s) did he serve with pre war?

    Cheers, Tom

    Tom,

Only found that he was posted to RAF Gosport in May 1936. Gosport had a Torpedo Trials Unit not much later till 1940.

    Regards,

    Leendert

    Steve,

According to the Jun 1937 AFL, he's with 22 Sqn as of 2 Nov 36.

Still there in the Mar 1938 AFL.

If he served in the Far East and given his background I would suggest either 36 or 100 Sqns in Singapore. Regards, Terry
