Another snippet for you: Your father sailed from Liverpool on WS ("Winston Special") Convoy 9B. Details of the route and ships etc can be found by Googling that information.

    Good luck with your research

    Hi all

I've finally (25 year rule) got my grandfather's service record. I'm wondering if there is anyone recommended to possibly interpret the thing as I've got very little time to research, and I wanted to have it all worked out for my Dad ?

    Websites? researchers?

    Disasterus123, Hi,
If we can have the traditional "Number, Rank, and Name" then all sorts of things may fall out of the woodwork!
As far as RAF abbreviations, acronyms, and short-forms, are concerned just transcribe your best effort(s) and paste here. Alternatively you could scan/copy the bits of the doc and put them up here (I don't know how it's done, but there are those who do it all the time!). On this forum there are more experts (sometimes in very small areas of expertise) than you could shake a stick at tom-cats in a fish-market on a Sunday!! Just give it a try. If we don't know - we might know who does!!
I (we?) await your next post!!

Oh Wow Peter will do thanks! I'll most likely be able to scan and post. So excited, my Dad is getting on a bit and didn't know too much of Gf's activities in the War.

    Hello

The first page displays all right, but there's not much information on that side of the sheet. The other scan is really too small to be deciphered, it's only a thumbnail image and I couldn't have it appear bigger and readable.

Sorry Joss, I was going by the instructions PDF relating to the page. I will try putting the other sheets up on here!
