Default Route for raid on Berlin 2nd September 1941

Could anyone provide the route(s) utilised by 35 Squadron on the raid on Berlin on 2nd September 1941.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Regards

    Pete,

I tend to find these in the Group orders for this period.

A cry for help on this one .......

Despite numerous searches at the National Archives we have not been able to find any documents containing the route(s) for this raid.

Has anyone got any documents that contain the route(s), as I would like to finish this project for the family involved with a particular loss on this raid?

Any help would be very much appreciated

    Pete,

I'd have gone with Nick's suggestion, but you've obviously tried that with no success. Did you look in the Group ORB Appendices? Quite often the routes to / from the target will be listed there. I've just checked the Loss Cards for you for that night, as later in the war they contained route details, but unfortunately none of them for the date your looking at give details of the route to and from. The Night raid Reports give route details, but they don't start until early 1942.

I wonder if Peter Davies, or Brian (Lyffe) our "Met Men", have any records giving weather details for the proposed route? Also, have you checked the Command HQ ORB to see if there is anything in there?

Sorry I can't help more Pete, all the best as always,

    Greg

Thanks for the response; I think Nick has looked at all relevant TNA files (but hopefully he will pick up your post and it may give him additional ideas).

As you say, the loss cards / night raid reports do not provide any answers .... hence my plea, on the off chance that someone has something in their files.
