I am looking for more information on Flight Sergeant Robert Roy Henderson, who was taken Prisoner of War when his plane was shot down during the 27-28 august 1942 raid on Kassel. The reason I am looking for information on this man is because he was part of another crew originally. This crew was killed when their Wellington crashed near my house in March 1942. You can find a short article I wrote on this story here: http://go2war2.nl/artikel/2103/Crash...laardingen.htm

The information I have got about this man:
Name: Robert Roy Henderson
Serial number: 953388
Unit: 142 Squadron RAF (joined the squadron on 25 October 1941 from No.23 OTU)
Taken POW: 28 August 1942
POW number: 26838
POW Camp: 344 (Lamsdorf)

The crew flew Wellington Z1266 on ops to Kassel during the night of 27/28 August 1942. Sergeant Alwyne Edward Rees was killed in the crash. He rests at the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery. He was the son of Rees Thomas Rees and Elizabeth Rees, of Princetown, Devon. The other crew members were:

Sgt D L F Tooms

Sgt Samuel Henry Ebsary

F/S T E McCormick (injured, he was treated for his wounds in Duisburg)

Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance!
