Default P/O A F Hookway RAAF ORB while with 7 Sqn PFF

    Hi All,

I am doing some research on P/O A F Hookway RAAF. I am looking for his ORB for his time with 7 Sqn PFF. He went on the following raids.

    18/19 April 1944 Tergnier.

    20/21 April 1944 Cologne.

    22/23 April 1944 Dusseldorf.

    26/27 April 1944 Essen.

    6/7 May 1944 Mantes-La-Jolie.

    10/11 May 1944 Courtrai.

    11/12 May 1944 Louvain.

    19/20 May 1944 Mont Couple.

21/22 May 1944 Duisburg Failed to return.

If anyone has the ORB's for 7 Sqn at this time and could contact me on harleyDOT158ATbigpondDOTcom replace the DOT and AT with the usual I would be very grateful.

    Regards,

    John.

    Hi Joss,

About a year ago, you kindly supplied a listing of the ops carried out by AUS412964 F/O Arthur Frederick HOOKWAY RAAF:

    http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/sho...Details-needed

There was no mention of Hookway participating in a raid on Courtrai on 10/11 May 1944.

Did Hookway go to Courtrai on 10/11 May 1944?

    Col.

    Hello Col,

I had completely forgotten about this previous thread !!!

There's a problem with the Squadron ORB on that raid ! The form 540 says they sent 14 Lancasters against Courtrai on the night 10/11th May, but the form 541 doesn't show them, going from the op against Nantes, during the night 7/8th May, to the next one against Louvain (Leuven in Flemish, as it's in Belgium) during the night 11/12th May.

The form 541 is actually inserted at the end of the month, with the handwritten mention in the upper right corner that it should have been inserted before.

    HOOKWAY flew ND496 'T' with GILES-DUDLEY-GRANT-THOMPSON-BROUGHTON-STEEDMAN 22:09-00:36.

    This will complete the records.

    Joss,

Thanks for that. Will amend my records.

l neglected to mention, that John had listed the Courtrai raid in his initial posting. Thanks John.

    Col.
