    BRUCE, Ronald Reid Hardcastle, F/O - Died of injuries, air crash, Bristol Fighter, No.14 (Army Cooperation) Squadron, Amman, Jordan, 17 January 1925; 326113 LAC Alex Sutton seriously injured.

    McLAREN, James Alexander, Flying Officer - killed in Bristol Fighter, No.208 (Army Co-Operation) Squadron, Moascar, Ismailia, Egypt, 17 January 1925.

    LEWES, Richard, F/O - killed 29 January 1925, Hal Far aerodrome, Malta, in a Fairey Flycatcher of No.403 (Fleet Fighter) Flight. Name spelled “Lewis” in Aeroplane of 4 February 1925.

    CRUIKSHANK, Jasper Wallace, S/L, OBE - Died 20 February 1925

    WOODE, Cecil Stanley Marshall, P/O - killed 27 February 1925 in an Avro 504K of No.99 (Bombing) Squadron. Seriously injured was 253189 AC1 Ernest Forrester.

    PRICE, Dudley, F/L - Died 4 March 1925

    HAYTER-HAMES, Noel Cecil, F/O - Killed 21 March 1925 in crash of a DH.9a, in Waziristan, No.27 Squadron; the pilot, F/O E.J. Dashwood fatally injured.

    DASHWOOD, Edward John, F/O - Died of injuries 24 March 1925 from injuries sustained in crash of a DH.9a, in Waziristan, No.27 Squadron. Dashwood pilot; F/O Noel Cecil Hayter-Hames also killed.

    SCOTT, Ian Malcolm, P/O - Killed 25 March 1925 at Caterham in a Sopwith Snipe of No.32 Squadron, Kenley.

    BERRIDGE, Thomas Donald, F/O - killed 30 March 1925, in a Bristol Fighter, No.28 Squadron, Quetta, India. Injured was 831034 AC2 Alexander Bidmead.

    MILLS, Ernest Edward, AC1 (335778) - Missing, believed drowned 7 April 1925 following the crash of a Vickers Virgina, No.9 Squadron, in the sea off Birchington, 11.00 a.m. in fog. The pilot of the airplane, P/O Eric Alfred Claud Bushell, was slightly injured, while 262113 AC2 Horace Eustace Grellis was serious injured.

    DENISON, Christopher, F/O - killed 30 April 1925 in a Fairey IIID landplane, No.440 Flight, Malta; injured were Lieutenant Henry Thew Rust, RN and Telegraphist Oliver.

    ROSEVEARE, Harry Lestourgeon, F/O and Lieutenant, RN - killed 1 May 1925 in a collision at Leuchers between two Fairey IIID aircraft; with 335838 Corporal Tom Vincent Warwick.

    WARWICK, Tom Vincent, Corporal (335838) - killed 1 May 1925 in a collision at Leuchers between two Fairey IIID aircraft; with F/O H.L. Roseveare.

    ROCHE, John Francis, F/L - Died 3 May 1925

    McDONALD, Hugh Crichton, F/O, RAFO - died of injuries 5 May 1925 following crash of a Blackburn Kangaroo at Brough.

    WALLER, Robert Richard Studdert, F/O - died of injuries, 10 May 1925 following crash on 9 May 1925 of a Bristol Fighter, No.31 Squadron, Ambala, India

    GRIFFITH, John Ellerthorp, Lieutenant, Iraq Levies - killed 4 May 1925 at Mosul, in crash of No.6 Squadron Bristol Fighter; F/L Walter Arthur Bouchier Savile, pilot, slightly injured.

    MORGAN, David Brown, F/O and Lieutenant, RN - killed 15 May 1925 in crash of DH.9A, No.1 Flying Training School, Netheravon.

    FINDLEY, Arthur, F/O - killed 20 May 1925 in crash at Sialkot of Bristol Fighter, No.31 Squadron, Ambala, India. Also killed was Captain Gregory Rich, Indian Army.

    WOODYATT, Arthur Reinagle, F/O - killed 22 May 1925 in crash of a Sopwith Snipe, No.32 Squadron.

    WILSON, Sydney Ronald, Corporal (241627) - Killed 25 May 1925 - No.12 Squadron at Andover, “whilst engaged in a practice parachute jump.”

    WILSON, Daniel Geoffrey, P/O, killed at Abu Sueir, 26 June 1925 in a DH.9a of No.4 Flying Training School, with 330805 LAC Charles Willey Gamage.

    KERCKHOVE, Herbert Vincent, F/O, MC - killed 2 July 1925 in an Avro of No.19 Squadron, Duxford.

    PENNY, Marcus Glanfield, F/O (Lt, RA) - killed 8 July 1925 in a DH.9a, No.30 Squadron, Hinaidi; accident on the Qura Dagh, above the village of Malula, east of Kirkuk. Also killed was Lieutenant George Donald Edward Heather, the Loyal Regiment, attached to 2nd Cavalry Regiment, Iraq Levies.

    RYAN, John, F/O (Mate, RN) - Killed 14 July 1925 in an Avro machine, No.1 Flying Training School, Netheravon, accident at Charlton, Wiltshire.

    GAZE, John Reginald, Sergeant (355635) - Killed 5 August 1925 at Hinaidi, Iraq; pilot of a DH.9a, No.55 Squadron.

    YOUNG, Francis, Leading Aircraftman (353425), killed 5 August 1925 at Hinaidi, Iraq in a DH.9a, No.55 Squadron, piloted by Sergeant John R. Gaze.

    FITZGERALD, John Jellett, P/O - Killed 12 August 1925 in a DH.9a of No.84 Squadron, Shaibah, accident near Ur, Iraq; 348244 AC1 Frank Edward Leatherdale slightly injured.

    COPSEY, Reginald Frederick Charles, Aircraftman First Class (326965) - in crash of an F.5 flying boat (54039), Calshot; aircraft was piloted by F/L Norbert Marie Sackville Russell (injured); also on board were F/O Robert Collins (injured) and 103860 Corporal Herbert Essam (injured). Glassy water landing and crash; F/O R. Sunnucks commended for saving lives.

    DE ROBECK, Dermot, P/O - Killed 28 August 1925, as passenger in a two-seater Siskin, No.111 Squadron, piloted by F/O Harry Butlin; collided at Hinxton, near Cambridge, with Siskin piloted by P/O Hugh Peck.

    PECK, Hugh, P/O - Killed 28 August 1925, Siskin, No.111 Squadron at Hinxton, near Cambridge; collided with two-seater Siskin piloted by F/O Harry Butlin.

    BUTLIN, Harry, F/O - Killed 28 August 1925, as pilot of a two-seater Siskin, No.111 Squadron, collided at Hinxton, near Cambridge, with Siskin piloted by P/O Hugh Peck. Passenger P/O Dermot de Robeck also killed.

    CAVIS-BROWN, Geoffrey Ashton, F/O and H/F/L - Killed 4 September 1925 at Fort Grange, Gosport - pilot and sole occupant of a Blackburn aircraft.

    SPURWAY, William Langdon, P/O - killed 14 September 1925 in a Bristol Fighter of No.5 Flying Training School, Sealand.

    CARTER, Basil Royston, F/L, AFC - killed 25 September 1925 at Elmdon (near Royston, Cambridgeshire) following collision with 402111 Sergeant Thomas James McGrath, both flying Grebes of No.29 Squadron.

    WATHEN, Edward John Hulbert Wathen, P/O - Killed Port Said, 27 December 1925 as the result of an “accident.” He had enlisted in the RAF, July 1925 and had been posted to No.4 FTS, Abu Sueir “for a course of instruction.”

    Aircraft was Fairey IIID N9756 of 443Flt. which collided with Fairey IIID N9754 and spun in near Gaurdbride. N9754 landed safely.(Pilot Lt.Edward Acton Alcock Gibbon R.N & AC1 Austin Joseph Stewart uninjured.)

    PRICE, Dudley - died at the Central R.A.F. Hospital, Finchley - source is the National Probate Calendar

    DREDGE, Felix Allen St. George - the Dundee Evening Telegraph of May 1st 1925 reports that he was killed when his motorcycle collided head on with a charabanc on the main road between Christchurch and Wimborne, Dorset. It states he was "attached to the Royal Air Force Training School at Netheravon."

    ROCHE, John Francis - died at the R.A.F. Hospital, Baghdad- source is the National Probate Calendar

    17/01/25 - BRUCE,Ronald Reid Hardcastle/SUTTON,Alex.

    Unfortunately, Fg Off Bruce, who had been playing a starring role in the 1923 Air Pageant was killed at Ramleh on 17 January (1925) in a flying accident in Bristol F2B Fighter F4502, which also injured LAC Alex Sutton - error of judgement by pilot.

    16/08/25 - COPSEY et al. Aircraft actually, Felixstowe F.5 N4039 - 480 Flight - crashed at night and caught fire on impact, burnt out, Calshot (1 killed).
