    Hello,

    UK.

74520 Sqn.Ldr. Harold Spotswoode HENNAH RAFVR.

74520 Acting Sqn. Ldr. Harold Spotswoode (originally Spotswood) HENNAH RAFVR, was an Australian, born in Ballarat, Victoria, on 9 August, 1894. His family moved to Wellington, New Zealand c. 1905, where his uncle, Richard Seddon, was Prime Minister. He was educated there, entering Victoria University, Wellington. Hennah served in the 1st A.I.F., joining on 20 June, 1916. He served in the Dental Corps and was honourably discharged on 13 July, 1919. He took up permanent residency in the UK in the 1920s, and was commissioned in the RAFVR on 26 September, 1939.

Hennah was instrumental in setting up the first RAAF bomber unit (No.455 [RAAF] Sqn.), in the UK, serving as Adjutant from 29 July, 1941, and was posted to No.50 Sqn. on 19 September, 1941. I don't have details of his actual movements after leaving No.455 (RAAF) Sqn.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure what caused his death on 15 November, 1944, but he is noted in Cas. Comm. No.483, Flight, March 22, 1945, as having "Died on Active Service".
