    Default 612 Squadron ORB

    Hello all,

would there be any 612 Squadron fans out there?

I am hoping to confirm F/Lt Wilfred Joseph Broughton 123948 serving with that unit at some point. His family are looking up his service and I've suggested they get his service record as a starter.

They provided this great crew photo of their father, standing at left with a crew of a Wellington Coastal Command aircraft.
Serial number is trancated but its in the range NB87? and appears to be carrying the fuselage codes, 8W-N

Photo can be seen on the webpage related to his crash landing in Ireland in 1942.
    http://www.skynet.ie/~dan/war/r1021.htm

I can't right now say when he was with 612 Sqn.
Woudl any one have the NB87() A-B serial book?

Anyone have the 612 ORB maybe?

I'm wondering if the Copilot from the Irish landing, Sgt Alfred John BOULTON 1312211 might have stayed with Wilfred and he he might be the Sgt pilot in the photo.

    Hello,

John Rawlings, in his Coastal,Support and Special Squadrons of the RAF and their Aircraft (p.238), quotes the identity of No.612 squadron Wellington XIV 8W-N, as NB874.

    Hello,

l am aware of that, you mention it on your website. l was referring to the photograph of Unitt, which the family might not have seen.
