Default Accident at 18 AFU end of march 1943

    Hi,

I am looking after detail about an aircrash on 26 (?) march 1943 with 18 AFU. Could it be with Airspeed Oxford n"198" ?

    TIA

    Bertrand,

Try Oxford I serial ED198 at 18 PAFU Church Lawford on 26 March 1943. Says it sank back on take off and was destroyed by fire.

Don't have a Form 1180 unfortunately and so don't know crew details.

Thank you very much Colin. You confirm the information I had with a day and a part of serial. One the crew could be a FF French.

Alas no name : only information that there could be a wounded FF.

    Bertrand,

The Form 1180 is held on microfilm at the RAF Museum, Hendon, London.

As it's a single query, you could ask DORIS - that's the research and information people - if somebody could look at the 1180 for you. They are usually very helpful.

I have noted the name 'Feuvrier' as being injured in this incident. No more than that, sorry.

Thanks Dave & Colin. Certainly Charles FEUVRIER (FF 30.082). Posted to n342 and before with 18 (P) AFU.

In the same war diary I have another incident at the 18 (P) AFU. I have only info that on 18 or 17 feb. 1943 one aircraft had an incident and the Oxford will go on its nose on the taxiway. Pilot seems to be a Free French NCO. Any idea ?

    TIA

    Bertrand
