    Default Wing Commander Ian Philpott

Another long shot from me, but is anyone in touch with, or have an email address for, the above Officer? He wrote a 2-volume set on the history e RAF in the inter-war period a few years ago, and I believe he may have some information on 100 Squadron's activities in Ireland in the early 1920s that I would very much like to try and talk to him about. If anyone is in touch with him, please could you ask him to contact me on gregATgreg-harrison.co.uk

    Many thanks and best wishes,

    Greg

Ian Philpott was last heard of in Canterbury, having retired from the RAF in 1973 (the books were published in 2005).

I'll do a search of the Electoral Register a bit later to see if I can track him down.

The books were published by Pen and Sword, who are based in Barnsley, Yorkshire. You could do what I once did with complete success. Write to the company and ask if they will forward your letter to Philpott. They should still have his details, as there are probably royalties to be paid etc.

    Try this first.

There is an Ian M Philpott who lives at Ship Ahoy, Lighthouse Road, Dover, CT15 6EJ

You could write him a nice letter and ask if he is the author you seek. It might ne the right man or he could tell you to: 'go forth and multiply'!!
