I have researched Flt.Lt.J A Hodgkinson, pilot on 23 squadron,Luqa. During a sortie over Italy, the aircraft was fired at by ground forces and a round penetrated the cockpit, killing W.O.Woodman
probably instantly. Hodgkinson landed at Luqa without further incident. Thus there was no aircraft accident and, as far as I know, the aircraft was repaired and returned to service. Woodman was not his regular Observer... which was Sgt Crapper.

    Hello

Is it possible that you can confirm the serial of the Mosquito that Hodgkinson and Woodman were flying in at the time of Woodman's death?

    Regards
