Pitt didn't have anything to do with ED188.

    No.2 FIS ORB:
December 28th 1944, “Oxford aircraft crashed at Meadows Farm, 15 miles south west of Brechin. Call was received at 13.05 hours. Crash was located at approximately 1415 hours. Hello

I'm wondering if AC1 David Grant MOFFAT (what's the meaning of the small c actually ?) might be a member of No. 151 Repair Unit (Aircraft) which was based at nearby Wevelgem airfield in Belgium, where it arrived earlier that month. Unfortunately the unit's ORB makes no mention of this loss. Several allied casualties buried in Lille southern cemetery had actually died in Calmette hospital in Lille, and from there were taken to the closest cemetery, which happened to be Lille southern.

The Overseas Deaths database has him as "151 RU Bla." - I'm not sure what the 'Bla." means though...?

    Hi,

I've often seen BLA on official documents, I presume this to be something roughly like "on the field". May I suggest "British Liberation Army". I've seen the meaning somewhere, but I can't remember.

SO it's very likely to be No. 151 Repair Unit (Aircraft). A pity their ORB doesn't record his death.

The new database Jagan and all have set up is amazing, seems to be linking everythign thing together.

Anyway, it associated Pitt with Tiger Moth BB672, Written off (damaged beyond repair) 28.12.44 when hit tree low flying at Meikleour, 4 miles south of Blairgowrie, Perthshire
