    Default Enlistment Dates

    Hello All,
Can I ask you to send me (via Forum, PM, or email) any ACTUAL Enlistment dates for personnel who Enlisted in the following number blocks (where both the Start, and End, Dates are known):
    1150001-1299800
    1300001-1360800
    1375001-1424800
    1425001-1649900
    1815001-1838234
I don’t need names, etc, - just the Number and the Enlistment date. Any other Enlistment Dates, where the Start and End Dates of the Block are known, would also be welcomed. I don’t want thousands of dates. I need enough to be able to determine whether a mathematical approach to forecasting an Enlistment Date simply from the Enlisted Number has any viability.
The question “When did (s)he Enlist” is often asked on the Forum. It is often the case that the reply has to be “After MM, YY”. Where Start/End Dates of a block are known I think I might be able to produce a realistic Enlistment Date from an Enlistment Number – but I need data to prove/disprove my theory. Thus this Thread.
The corollary is that if this is proved – within the limits of experimental accuracy – it may, subsequently, be possible to forecast/prove an End Date for blocks where this is currently unknown!!
    TIA

I think intakes were weekly (not daily) so you may need to establish the maximum weekly intake at each location to help you with this exercise. I will see what I have in the way of numbers.

Good luck with this ... as I think you are going to need it!

    Malcolm (et al),
Tks that list. Problem is that most of the Enlistment Dates don't fit the Blocks I've got (the Routledge list). Looks like I might be on a loser here? Are we, possibly, in an area where the Number was allocated but not actually Enlisted (deferrments, medicals, etc, etc?) until later? However, as a scientist, I refuse to let mere facts get in the way of an attractive theory!!
New, much larger, gas hob on order - to accommodate all similar problems on the various 'back burners'. Ditto 'drawing board(s)'.

    Adam, Hi,
Tks for that. Still can't make it fit! Too many things that I can't factor in!! I'm going to bin it!
    Tks all.
