Default Australian F-4 Lightnings with 75 Sqn, RAAF

    Morning All,

No. 75 Sqn, RAAF, operated alongside its P-40s between August and December 43, two F-4 Lightnings, the reconnaissance version of the P-38. Does anyone know why this unit took charge of such aircraft?

    Thanks
    Phil

Thanks Alex. I know this site excellent site, however that doesn't explain why 75 Sqn took charge of these F-4s and not 1 PRU! No explanation are either given in 75 Sqn ORB.

    Hello

Perhaps because both types had Allison V-1710 engines, and it was easier to have them maintained by P-40 ground crews ?
