    Default 453 squadron - attack 30 March 1945

    L.S.,

On the 30th of March 1945, first task of the day (= around 08:00 hours), the 453 did a dive-bombing attack on a target closeby my location. Have been searching for a combat film of it, but can sofar not trace it. Has anyone by chance a copy of that combat-film, or, does anyone know if it still exists??

And best wishes for the season...!

    Kind regards,
    Hendrik

    Hello Hendrik

As they were a RAAF Squadron try the National Archives of Australia as I have found information there about their time with 125 Airfield/Wing in 1944

You might also like to try the Imperial War Museum Collection http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/search

There is a great deal of combat film in their collection but each reel of film contains a large number of short clips. On a brief search I have found 453 Sqn items. You need to search on "RAF camera gun footage" - you might be able to refine the search by year I have not tried that.

Seasons greetings to everyone on RAF Commands

    Steve
